Zimmer: Dalvin Cook’s shoulder ‘feels good today’

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook injured his shoulder in Week 15 and his status for Week 16 is uncertain. We break down the fantasy football implications.

The Minnesota Vikings got a big win in Week 15 over the Los Angeles Chargers, but it came at the cost of a Dalvin Cook shoulder injury. Cook has been dealing with shoulder issues throughout the season, and while head coach Mike Zimmer said after the game that it was different from his previous issue, it’s easy to be skeptical.

On Monday, Zimmer told the media Cook’s shoulder “feels good today” when asked if Cook could play through it in Week 16. Mike Boone replaced him in the second half, and was relatively effective in the blowout. Alexander Mattison is normally Cook’s backup, but was sidelined with an ankle injury.

Fantasy football analysis: Vikings RB Dalvin Cook

This is going to be a tricky situation to sort through this week. Cook will likely be limited in practice, and even if he is a DNP all three days, he likely ends up listed as questionable heading into the game. The Vikings play on Monday Night Football, so this is going to be a difficult situation to manage for the time being.
