UDPATE: Good news if you’ve got Joe Mixon on your fantasy football roster. A day after showing up on the team’s practice participation report with a calf injury, Mixon practiced in full on Friday and was removed from the final injury report. He’s good to go for Sunday.
The Cincinnati Bengals face the Miami Dolphins in Week 16, and running back Joe Mixon is suddenly a question for the game. The Bengals wrapped up Thursday practice and added Mixon to their injury report as limited with a calf injury. There is no word yet on what caused the calf injury.
Fantasy football analysis: Bengals RB Joe Mixon
This is a concerning development heading into championship weekend. Mixon has been showing life of late after an atrocious start to the season. He rushed for 136 yards last week and 146 yards and a touchdown the week before, all while remaining a regular part of the passing game.
The Bengals face a bad Dolphins defense this weekend, which makes Mixon a must-start if he is active. If he sits, Giovani Bernard becomes an intriguing plug-and-play option this weekend. He is not a must-start like Mixon, but he would be a useful fill-in.
