If you’re counting on Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton for your fantasy football playoffs, the latest news is not overly inspiring. Head coach Frank Reich met with the media on Monday and said he is hopeful Hilton will return to action this season, according to beat writer Mike Chappell.
Hilton is recovering from a shoulder injury that has sidelined him four of the past five weeks. He played in Week 12 and caught three passes for 18 yards. He struggled at times and so was shut down for Week 13. Reich said there is no current plan to place Hilton on IR, according to beat writer Stephen Holder.
Fantasy football analysis: Colts WR T.Y. Hilton
Even leaving a return open, Reich’s comments do not create much confidence for fantasy football players. The Colts’ playoff chances are slipping away, and if they lose again this weekend, they might decide it’s time to shut Hilton down for the rest of the season. They are one game back in the wild card, but if they dropped two back with three games to go, it makes sense not to risk a bigger problem for Hilton heading into 2020.
For the time being, you can probably assume Hilton will not be available for Week 14.
