UPDATE #3: Cook went to the locker room, but has returned to the Vikings sideline. He has his helmet with him sitting on the bench, but is not going in for the next Vikings offensive series with 5:40 left in the third quarter, per Chad Graff.

UPDATE #2: New injury for Dalvin Cook who suffered a shoulder injury midway through the third quarter. He suffered the injury on a fumble and is questionable to return. Alexander Mattison will take over for him in the Vikings backfield.

UPDATE: Good news for the Vikings. Dalvin Cook returned to the field to start the third quarter.

The Minnesota Vikings are headed into halftime leading the Seattle Seahawks 17-10 after a last second field goal to close the first half. The break comes at an ideal time as running back Dalvin Cook was shaken up late in the quarter.

Cook caught a screen pass and turned it into a 15-yard gain and fumble (recovered by Vikings) before departing the game. He did not return for the final two plays, according to multiple beat writers. He was surrounded by trainers as the half closed out. He finished the first half with 28 yards and a touchdown on seven carries and three receptions for 35 yards. Ameer Abdullah replaced him on the final two plays.

The Vikings open the third quarter with the ball, so we’ll find out quickly what his status is.
