UPDATE: There is rain and high winds for the game, which has pushed the point total down. It was as high as 57, but is down to 51.5. As of game day morning, 77 percent of the point total handle is on the over, while 57 percent of tickets bet has been on the under. Meanwhile, 74 percent of the point spread handle and 82 percent of the money line handle are on favored Buffalo.
The first of 40 FBS bowl games gets underway on Friday, Dec. 20, and it should be a fun one between the Buffalo Bulls and Charlotte 49ers in the Bahamas Bowl. This game is featuring a pair of teams that have fared well against the spread late in the season, and both come in with overall records of 7-5.
Charlotte is a fun story as it just started a football program in 2013. Six years later, the 49ers find themselves in their first ever bowl game. On the other hand, Buffalo is playing in its second consecutive bowl game for the first time, looking for its first bowl win in its fourth try.
This is a daytime kickoff, so don’t be afraid to stream a quarter or two when the boss isn’t looking but if not, there’s 39 other bowl games you can check out over the next few weeks. Bowl season is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Pace yourselves.
Game Time/TV Channel/Streaming

The Best Bet
Motivation factor is key when deciding which team to invest on in bowl games. With both teams going for their first ever bowl win in program history, this is somewhat of a championship game for both sides. If I had to pick a side, it would be Buffalo covering -6.5, but I am more confident on the total. I’m actually going to buck the over trend for both teams and dive in on the under 54. Both teams have control time of possession and rely on running the ball with talented defenses.
Pick: Under 54
