Point spread, total, money line, injury report and more for Texans-Bucs in Week 16

Houston heads to Tampa to lock up the AFC South in a potential shootout. We break down notable odds, including the point spread, trends, and ATS history.

Last week, we said farewell to Thursday Night Football for the year, while also welcoming Lamar Jackson into the record books as he surpassed Michael Vick for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a single season. For Week 16, we’ll kick off the games with a Saturday slate starting in Florida. The Houston Texans look to solidify their hold on the AFC South as they face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs, though, have won five out of their last six games, so the Texans will certainly have their work cut out for them.

We could start off the week with one of the highest scoring games, as this competition is tied for the second-highest point total. That’s due to the shootout potential of this game. With both defenses in the bottom five for passing yards allowing per game, and just knowing the aggressive tendencies of Jameis Winston (DFS salary $6,900) and Deshaun Watson ($7,000), there’s no doubt we could see an air battle.

After losing Mike Evans in Week 14, Tampa lost Chris Godwin ($7,400) the following week. Though his status is still up in the air, it’s clear what Breshad Perriman’s ($6,000) role will be. It’s also clear that Winston will throw the ball regardless of his weapons. Meanwhile, with Watson’s full repertoire in play, the Texans should be ready to make their final push to the playoffs. I’d take the over here, as well as the Texans to cover.
