Point spread, total, money line, injury report and more for Steelers-Jets in Week 16

The Steelers need a win in Week 16 against the Jets to further solidify their playoff chances. We break down notable odds, including the point spread, trends, and ATS history.

The Steelers have a lot to play for in this game as they continue to fight to maintain a playoff spot. Needing a win in this game, they have the luxury of attacking a poor Jets defense that really struggles against opposing receivers. The only problem is, Devlin Hodges hasn’t exactly been giving those guys much to work with. Over his last four games, Hodges is averaging just 171 passing yards with no more than a touchdown thrown in each. The Jets have been a very tough team to run against, so the effectiveness of James Conner is crucial in this game. Making his return last week, Conner carried the ball eight times for 42 yards in a 10-17 loss to the Bills.

Defense is likely what’ll win this game for the Steelers, which is likely a huge reason they’re favored. They posses an excellent pass rush and have been solid through the air and on the ground. It’s a very tough spot for Sam Darnold, who is taking an average of 3.2 sacks per game. In recent games against teams with tough secondaries, Darnold managed just 218 passing yards against the Ravens, 239 against the Bengals and 86 against the Patriots. Overall, this is going to be a very tough game for the Jets offensively, as evidenced by the Steelers allowing an average of 15.7 points over the last three weeks, which is the third-lowest total in the league over that span.
