The Patriots D/ST has been the definition of dependable in 2019. Can New England continue to produce big numbers for fantasy owners as most head into their championship week? We break down the fantasy implications below.
Fantasy football advice, New England Patriots D/ST
The Patriots square off against a divisional opponent, the Buffalo Bills, in Week 16. Josh Allen started off this year as a turnover machine with seven interceptions and two fumbles in his first five games of the season, but seems to have turned things around since the Week 6 bye. Since then, Allen has only had two fumbles and two interceptions over nine games. Allen may have cleaned up his act, but is important to remember that three of those interceptions early in the season came at the hands of the Patriots defense in a game where Allen left early. The Patriots went on to record a fourth interception in that game against back-up quarterback, Matt Barkley, on their way to a 16-10 victory.
The Patriots are on their home turf this time and hoping for a shot at the number one spot in the AFC. They had a brief stretch of subpar performances, before returning to their elite level of production in Week 15 against the Bengals. This defense is back on track should show up ready to play. There should be no hesitation in plugging them into line-ups this week.
