Top daily fantasy football running back plays over $6,000 in Week 16

We check out the top running backs on the main slate for Week 16.

This is our last week of games that we can feel confident that teams will be going all out. Week 17 brings a different mindset to NFL teams for the most part and we will have a lot of playoff races decided. Below, I have some of the top running back plays over $6,000 on the main Sunday slate.

Christian McCaffrey, Panthers (10,100)

You can’t get Lamar Jackson and McCaffrey on your team without hurting your overall lineup, so he is going to take some work to fit, but you can’t get away from his tremendous floor and upside. The Colts give up short passes in lieu of deep passes, which fits well into McCaffrey’s wheelhouse. Expect another big receptions game to stabilize his DK floor and then upside for so much more.

Chris Carson, Seahawks ($8,500)

Carson gives you some cost savings from McCaffrey and with Rashaad Penny gone, he has tremendous safety in a game where the Seahawks are favored by 10 points at home. The Cardinals are worse against the pass than the run but that isn’t saying much. Since Week 3, they’ve given up the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs

Joe Mixon, Bengals ($6,600)

Mixon has put up the most yards by a running back against Cleveland and New England over the last two games. Now he gets a shot at the Dolphins, who have allowed the most rushing yards to running backs in the league. This game should be close and it looks like the weather might be wet and windy. Mixon could be slowed a bit by all that but he also should see a lot of work to make up for any slow down.

Marlon Mack, Colts ($6,200)

Mack has faced two good run defenses since returning from his injury and hasn’t played well in those games, but this week he gets a great matchup against a Panthers team that has given up the most DK points in the league to running backs. The Colts very much want to run the ball, as Jacoby Brissett has been plain badly of late and they should be able to do that this week against the Panthers, at home, in a game they are favored.
