Julian Edelman evaluated for head injury, returns in fourth quarter

Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been banged up all year. He’s now being evaluated for a head injury in Week 16. We break down the situation.

UPDATE: Edelman returned to the game with 9:01 left in the fourth quarter.

UPDATE: Edelman has gone to the Patriots locker room and the team announced he is being evaluated for a head injury.

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has gone into the medical tent to be evaluated for an injury in the third quarter of Week 16. Edelman was called for offensive pass interference on the previous drive and was down briefly. He hopped up to complete the drive, but is getting evaluated while the Patriots defense is on the field.

Prior to the injury, Edelman led the team with four receptions for 42 yards on five targets. He was questionable with knee and shoulder issues coming into the game.
