Week 16 was ugly for both the Steelers and Jets, but the Steelers won the award for ugliest, as they lost their starting running back, benched their quarterback, saw the new quarterback go down with his own injury and barely moved the ball in a loss that hurts their playoff chances.
The Steelers amazingly still have a shot at the playoffs though, as the Ravens won and will rest Lamar Jackson and likely other key starters when they Steelers come to town next week. The way they have been playing doesn’t make a Jackson-less Ravens team seem all that much of an easier opponent though.
The Jets couldn’t move the ball well on the Steelers tough defense, but Sam Darnold managed to not throw an interceptions and had enough good drives to finish off the offense deprived Steelers.
Devlin Hodges was abysmal and was yanked for Mason Rudolph who looked better and helped them score their only touchdown, a pass to Diontae Johnson, but Rudolph was forced from the game with an undisclosed injury, and Hodges continued to play poorly when he came back into the game.
