Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise are both out for the season after suffering injuries against the Cardinals in their Week 16 loss. Prosise broke his arm and Carson injured his hip. They also lost offensive lineman Duane Brown, who will need surgery on his knee, but might be able to return for the playoffs, in a group of devastating injuries.

These are big blows to Seattle after also losing Rashaad Penny for the season a couple weeks ago. They are in the playoffs but have a date with the 49ers in Week 17 which will settle who wins the NFC West and gets a bye week and home field advantage in the playoffs.

After news broke, the odds for Seattle’s tilt with the 49ers went from -1.5 to -2.5 in favor of San Francisco. Brown’s loss on the offensive line is likely the major reason for Vegas taking notice, but dropping from Carson to Travis Homer is a big drop as well.

Seattle will go fishing for running backs to help them in Week 17 and into the playoffs. There aren’t any big names out there waiting for a chance at this point, but someone like C.J. Anderson would make sense if he’s ready to go.
