Point spread, total, moneyline and more for Packers-Vikings in Week 16 MNF

Can the Vikings continue the fight for the NFC North title? Or will Rodgers clinch it for Packer Nation? We break down notable odds, including the point spread, trends, and ATS history.

The final Monday Night Football matchup of the season will feature the two heavyweights in the NFC North. The Green Bay Packers hold a one-game lead in the division, and even with a loss to the Minnesota Vikings this week, they’ll still have the tiebreaker. As long as they don’t crumble and lose to the lowly Lions in Week 17, it’s expected that the Packers will claim their first division title since the 2016-17 season.

When they previously met in Week 2, the Packers edged past the Vikings with a 21-16 victory. The usual suspects were in the spotlight for Green Bay. Aaron Jones ran for 116 yards and a touchdown, while Aaron Rodgers connected with Devante Adams for seven catches and 106 yards. The Packers will once again look to those players to lead the way in this matchup. On the Vikings’ side, Dalvin Cook put up 154 yards and one score on the ground. Unfortunately, arguably the league’s best rusher is unlikely to suit up on MNF as he deals with his shoulder injury.

The Cook news opens the door for Mike Boone, who recorded two touchdowns last week in a blowout over the Chargers, and Alexander Mattison, if he’s able to play through his ankle injury. Even if Dalvin Cook were on the field for Week 16, I still wouldn’t feel great about picking the Vikings at -5.5. The division-leading Packers should keep it close, and I’d even be inclined to pick them as outright winners. This has an Aaron Rodgers clutch performance written all over it.
