Raiders can make the playoffs with some help

The Raiders are 7-8 and still have a shot at a wild card berth in Week 17. Here’s a look at what needs to happen.

The Oakland Raiders beat the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 16, and they head into the final weekend with their playoff hopes still alive — if faintly. The Raiders are 7-8 and sitting a game back of the Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers for the second wild card berth. If the Titans or Steelers win, one of them clinches the playoff berth. If both lose, we approach chaos!

The Raiders playoff hopes rest on the following results in Week 17:

That’s an uphill climb for Oakland, but it’s not exactly impossible. The Colts are favorites against the Jaguars, and the Texans could be slim favorites against the Titans depending on how many starters they rest. The Ravens are expected to rest some starters, which likely means the Steelers will be favored.

That could leave Oakland counting on the likes of Robert Griffin III in Week 17. It’s not exactly ideal, but at least the Raiders have a shot, right?
