Technically this is the first reported deal of the trade season! We made it! This isn’t really a Woj bomb, but it’s a basketball trade alright. Both guards will get a change of scenery, with Clarkson the clear benefactor in the deal. Exum has been dealing with injuries and will likely be buried behind rookie guards Collin Sexton and Darius Garland. Clarkson on the other hand should provide some bench scoring and guard depth with Mike Conley (hamstring) sidelined.
Clarkson has some season-long fantasy basketball appeal in this trade. He was averaging 14.6 points per game off the bench for Cleveland and can fill it up. He dropped 33 points on the Grizzlies last Friday and should be used in a similar role to Alec Burks when he was with the Jazz.
#Cavs are getting a 2022 second from San Antonio and a 2023 second from Golden State in this Utah deal for Jordan Clarkson, sources say.
