This is the most curious line on the Christmas slate. The way the Milwaukee Bucks are playing, it’s hard to see they should be underdogs against anybody and the Philadelphia 76ers have been suspect in recent games. If we look at the standings, Philly sits in the middle of the Eastern Conference, while the Bucks have the best record in the NBA. It’s not as if Milwaukee is slipping in recent games either, it has won 21 of its last 22 games. We’ll have to look out for Joel Embiid’s status. He’s been dealing with an illness, though was able to play Monday vs. the Pistons. He could be questionable heading into Wednesday, but should play.
76ers vs. Bucks spread, over/under, money line
Spread: Bucks (-3)
Money line: Bucks (-148), Sixers (+125)
I don’t buy the 76ers as rightful favorites over the Bucks in this spot. Milwaukee (+140) is currently favored to win the Eastern Conference and there is an argument to be made that it should be the favorites to win the NBA Championship. Led by MVP favorite Giannis Antetokounmpo (-112), this team is a buzzsaw. Not only are the Bucks winning almost all of their games, rarely are the games close. Of the Bucks last 11 wins, nine have come by double-digits. Philly on the other hand, has lost three of its last five games, nearly as many losses as Milwaukee has all season. The Bucks should be favored in this spot.
Prediction: Bucks 116, Sixers 110
