UPDATE: If you look below you probably won’t believe your eyes. Or you will, just won’t understand how the Warriors pulled off such a huge win over the Rockets on Christmas. Nearly 88% of the handle was on Houston this morning and the Warriors ran away with their first win over a winning team all season. Golden State won 116-104 to cover the spread, win straight up and look like the team of old. The UNDER also hit, which was a bit of an upset in of itself.
The Warriors were able to hold James Harden to 24 points on 9-18 shooting. Harden was double-teamed throughout the game and wasn’t able to get off any shots. Golden State forced the rest of the Rockets squad to get it done, and while Russell Westbrook posted 30 points, nobody else was able to get easy baskets.
Preview: When the NBA booked this as a featured game for Christmas, this was probably not the matchup they expected. Obviously, they knew the teams, but the circumstances surrounding them. The Houston Rockets are more than fine and this isn’t directed at them. The Golden State Warriors on the other hand have quickly gone from being the team that everybody thought ruined the NBA to a team tanking for next season. They quickly fell apart after losing Steph Curry to a broken wrist. Golden State has the worst record in the Western Conference and are live to land the top pick in the draft.
