Top daily fantasy football QB punt plays for Week 17

Sunday’s 15-game slate will feature some unique quarterback situations, and here’s who we think could make great DFS punt plays in Week 17.

The regular season is nearly over, which means there will be plenty of chances for some reserves to get opportunities they normally wouldn’t get. Several signal callers find themselves in unique situations ahead of the season finale.

We took a look at what quarterbacks could give you solid stats at a cheap DFS price for Week 17, and here they are:

Quarterback

Robert Griffin III ($5,100), Ravens

John Harbaugh announced Monday that Lamar Jackson and several other key players won’t play for Baltimore in Sunday’s season finale. This opens up the door for Griffin to get some serious reps under center. The 2012 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year has completed 12 of his 17 pass attempts this year and has thrown for one touchdown while contributing 20 rushing yards. But he was once one of the most dynamic dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL. Griffin will have ample opportunity to show what he’s got, and he could surprise a lot of people come Sunday.

Case Keenum ($4,500), Washington

With Dwayne Haskins ruled out, Keenum will return to starter status. Keenum is no stranger to first-team reps, as he’s logged seven starts this season. He’s familiar with the system and threw for 221 and two touchdowns with no interceptions the last time he faced the Cowboys, totaling 16.7 DKFP. At this point in time, Keenum is just has productive as Haskins. You should definitely consider making a value play because of its high floor.

Devlin Hodges ($4,600), Steelers

Hodges was terrible in Week 16 and got benched in the second quarter following his second interception against the Jets. But he will face a diminished Ravens team as he attempts to redeem himself in Week 17 as Pittsburgh tries to sneak into the playoff picture. Baltimore is sitting safety Earl Thomas and defensive end Brandon Williams, which should make his job significantly easier. If Pittsburgh lets him throw the ball 38 times like he did in Week 15, Hodges could post some solid numbers.

Sam Darnold ($5,000), Jets

Darnold has more starts this year than any of the other options on this list of punt play options, and he’d probably be the least surprising success story. He’s only been held below double-digits in DKFP once this season, and that was against the Patriots in his second game back from a four-week break. Buffalo has already clinched a playoff berth and has nothing to prove. Darnold has been a consistent part of New York’s top unit. The ball is in his court at this point.
