How and what to watch in the Military Bowl between North Carolina & Temple

The Tar Heels qualified for a bowl game in Mack Brown’s first season back at North Carolina. Will his experience be enough to get past temple? We break down what to watch, how to watch via live online stream, and a best bet.

Before the College Football Playoff begins, the North Carolina Tar Heels and Temple Owls will square off during the afternoon in the Military Bowl.

What a year it has been for Mack Brown’s return to Chapel Hill in a season where a bowl game was certainly not expected. He is 13-8 overall as a head coach in bowl games.

Temple covered the spread in eight of 12 games this season, but first-year head coach Rod Carey is 0-6 in bowl games coming into this game.

Game Time/TV Channel/Streaming

The Military Bowl will begin at 12:00 p.m. ET in Annapolis, Maryland on Friday, Dec. 27 and can be seen on ESPN and WatchESPN.

Point Spread, Totals, Odds, Trends

Spread: North Carolina (-4.5) vs. Temple
Point Total: O/U 53 (-110)
Money line: North Carolina (-190), Temple (+155)

- Temple is 4-1 against the spread in its last five games.

The Best Bet

I’m going to keep this one simple. Rod Carey has never won a bowl game, and I don’t think his first one happens here. Mack Brown has had a disciplined football team all season long, and North Carolina is going to win by a touchdown, covering the spread.

Pick: North Carolina -4.5
