How and what to watch in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl between Michigan State & Wake Forest

Michigan State and Wake Forest head to New York for the Pinstripe Bowl. Can Michigan State salvage what has been a disappointing season? We break down what to watch, how to watch via live online stream, and a best bet.

UPDATE: The Spartans are a four-point favorite and a slim majority of point spread bettors at DraftKings Sportsbook think they can cover that number. 52 percent of the handle and 56 percent of tickets bet are on Michigan State to cover. However, money line bettors are feeling a little different. While 53 cent of tickets bet on the money line are on Michigan State, 53 percent of the handle is on Wake Forest.

The Michigan State Spartans and Wake Forest Demon Deacons will clash at Yankee Stadium in a game that will feature contrasting styles in the Pinstripe Bowl.

Michigan State will try to slow the game down to grind out a win, while Wake Forest and its up-tempo offense is going to be looking for a shootout.

This game will also feature different mindsets for both teams. Michigan State expected to be competitive in the Big Ten and barely scratched its way to a bowl game, while Wake Forest has to be optimistic going 8-4 although it lost three of its last four games to close out the season.

Game Time/TV Channel/Streaming

The New Era Pinstripe Bowl will begin at 3:20 p.m. ET in New York City on Friday, Dec. 27 and can be seen on ESPN and WatchESPN.

Point Spread, Totals, Odds, Trends

Spread: Michigan State (-3.5) vs. Wake Forest
Point Total: 50 O/U (-110)
Money line: Spartans (-177), Demon Deacons (+143)

- Michigan State is 1-7 against the spread in its last eight games.

- The total has gone under in 15 of Michigan State’s last 20 games.

- The total has gone under in seven of Wake Forest’s last 10 games.

The Best Bet

I’m going to break the rules here and give away two best bets because I’m pretty confident I know how this game will play out. Wake Forest’s offense remained solid despite losing star wide receiver Sage Surratt, though not as threatening as it was. Michigan State struggled to score points all season long and just squeaked out a win over Maryland to even make it to a bowl game. I really like the under in this game and for Wake Forest to cover the spread.

Pick: Under 50, Wake Forest -3.5
