Point spread, total, money line, injury report and more for Washington-Cowboys in Week 17

The Cowboys need a win and Eagles loss to win the NFC East. Washington is ready to play spoiler. We break down notable odds, including the point spread, trends, and ATS history for this Week 17 matchup.

NFL: Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Both teams are coming off some really tough losses in Week 16, as Washington fell to the Giants 41-35 in overtime and the Cowboys losing a pivotal divisional game against the Eagles, 17-9. Looking to simply wrap up their season, Washington will face a Cowboys team they last saw in Week 2 with QB Case Keenum under center once again. Dwayne Haskins has been ruled out with an ankle sprain, giving Keenum one last crack before the season concludes. In that prior matchup he threw for 221 yards with two touchdowns, Terry McLaurin was his favorite target in the game, hitting him five times for 62 yards and a touchdown. He’s been Washington’s most reliable receiver all season long and should continue that trend here in Week 17. We could also see some success on the ground as well, with Adrian Peterson operating as the RB1. The Cowboys hover around league average in run defense, allowing 81 rushing and 47 receiving per game.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, need all the help they can get to make the playoffs. First and foremost, they need a win here against Washington and then need the Giants to defeat the Eagles. While both are possible, it’s not a position the Cowboys and certainly, Jerry Jones did not expect to be in. They handled this team with ease in Week 2 and they’re a team you can throw against. Opposing quarterbacks are averaging 252 passing yards and 31 touchdowns thrown, the fourth-highest total in the league. However, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Cowboys go run-heavy with Ezekiel Elliot, as the Washington run defense are amongst the worst in the league. Opposing backs are averaging 119 rushing and 53 receiving, both are which are ranked amongst the highest in the league. In a must-win situation, I expect the Cowboys to pull all the stops here but then again, most would have considered last week to be the same type of scenario.
