Jamaal Williams was listead as not practicing for the second straight day due to a shoulder injury that cost him much of Week 16’s game against thee Vikings. The Packers had another walk-through practice, so Williams’ designation was based on how they believe he would have practiced, which is not at all.
Williams is starting to look iffy for Week 7 against the Lions. This is a game the Packers should be able to handle without him and they will need him in the playoffs. This isn’t a game the Packers can rest healthy players though, as they must win to give them a bye, which would end up helping Williams recover.
Fantasy football analysis: Packers RB Jamaal Williams
Williams has had flex appeal most of the season, as he’s shared work with Aaron Jones, sometimes splitting work evenly or surpassing Jones at times. But his status is truly up in the air at the moment, which makes it easier to project Jones as seeing the majority of the work even if Williams were to suit up. That pushes Jones down the fantasy and DFS depth chart and Jones up toward the top. He should be a strong play at DraftKings, even at his heavy $8,200 price, as his upside is tremendous as he goes for his 20th touchdown of the season.
