How to handle betting on Suns vs. Warriors

Should we ride Golden State at home getting points after Christmas Day’s showing? We break down the odds and spreads on DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Golden State Warriors (8-24) may be turning a corner this season. They just got their first win over a team above .500, defeating the Houston Rockets in convincing fashion on Christmas Day in Oakland. The Warriors looked like a legit team without Stephen Curry for the first time all season it seems. Now, they’ll look to carry that momentum in a less-featured spotlight Friday night vs. the Phoenix Suns (11-19). The Suns will be without Deandre Ayton, who is dealing with an ankle injury. Kelly Oubre Jr. (groin) is listed as probable, but its worth noting he’s on the injury report. Phoenix has cooled off after a hot start to 2019-20 that had the Suns in the playoff race in the West. They’re still in it technically, with the No. 8 seed only 2.0 games within reach.

Suns vs. Warriors spread, over/under, moneyline

Spread: Warriors +3
Over/Under: 224.5
Moneyline: GSW (+128), PHX (-152)

I think this is absolutely a spot in which we can ride the Warriors after that win over the Rockets. Steve Kerr is an incredible coach and maybe this was a breakthrough of sorts. Draymond Green looked active on both ends and was hitting shots. The Suns are less to handle than James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Clint Capela. Maybe if the Dubs employ similar strategies to shut down Devin Booker and Ricky Rubio, they can be just as successful at home tonight. It also helps that they’re getting points and plus-money on the line. The O/U seems like an easy hit on the OVER. Both the Suns and Warriors are implied for over 110 points and the money seems to be pouring in on the OVER. I think that’s the way to go.

Prediction: Warriors 124, Suns 117
