Houston Rockets PG Russell Westbrook is expected to play Saturday and rest Sunday with the team on a back-to-back set. Eric Gordon (knee) will practice Friday and return to the lineup Sunday.

So Russ will play Saturday vs. the Brooklyn Nets and then sit out of Sunday’s contest vs. the New Orleans Pelicans. Gordon will likely replace Westbrook in the starting lineup next to James Harden for Sunday’s game. Gordon hasn’t played since Nov. 11 due to a knee injury that required surgery. It will be a welcomed return for Gordon as the Rockets have lacked depth in their lineup for most of the season.
Fantasy Basketball Analysis: Houston Rockets guards
So on Saturday nothing really changes, it’s the same lineup and we should approach things accordingly. Harden should bounce back after being locked down by the Golden State Warriors on Christmas. As for Sunday, I think you can go ahead and pick up Gordon. He may be limited, but he has season-long fantasy basketball value in deeper formats given his ability to fill it up. If you need 3-pointers, Gordon isn’t a bad pickup. Harden would be the top DFS option on Sunday’s slate with no Westbrook and a matchup vs. the Pelicans, who are a bottom 5 team in defensive efficiency.
