Brooklyn Nets PG Kyrie Irving (shoulder) will not travel with the team on their upcoming road trip. Caris LeVert, however, will travel with the team, eyeing a return to the lineup.

This is nothing new for Irving, who has missed most of the season due to a shoulder impingement. LeVert on the other hand, tore ligaments in his thumb early in the year and hasn’t played since Nov. 10 as a result. He would be a nice addition back in the lineup to compliment Spencer Dinwiddie in the back court for the Nets, who are 16-14 and are in the No. 7 spot in the East despite not having Irving and Durant for most of 2019-20. Durant isn’t expected to play this season.
UPDATE: So LeVert is traveling with the team, but is unlikely to play Saturday vs. the Houston Rockets.
Caris LeVert will travel with the team, Atkinson said. It isn’t likely that he plays in Houston on Saturday because Atkinson said that LeVert needs to participate in a few more practices before he is ready to return to game action.
