Clemson and Ohio State both come into this matchup undefeated, but they took different paths to get to this point of the season. The Tigers rolled through an incredibly easy schedule with only one major threat, which was North Carolina in a one-point Clemson win.
Ohio State on the other hand was tested by taking on several ranked teams including Wisconsin twice, Penn State and Michigan. The schedule is a major reason Ohio State came in as the higher-ranked team in the final College Football Playoff rankings.

The Best Bet
I’m going to pick Clemson to cover this small spread especially since it’s under a field goal. Justin Fields is my biggest question mark for Ohio State with a knee injury. He was clearly limited in the Big Ten title game, deciding not to run when openings were available. It could be just gamesmanship, but Fields said he’s not where he expected to be health-wise at this point. Given the question mark with that injury, it’s enough to get me to place some money on Clemson to cover.
Pick: Clemson -2.5
