Best daily fantasy football running back plays under $6,000 in Week 17

Sony Michel will look to end the 2019 season on a good note at home against the Dolphins.

Week 17 is here and that means we’ll have a few extra hoops to jump through on our way while navigating the DraftKings slate. You can check out who is out and which teams might be resting players in our Week 17 Player Tracker. You can also look at which teams have more or less motivation than others here.

In this article, we’ll look at running backs who are priced over $6,000 who should be strong plays for your Week 17 lineups.

DeAndre Washington, Raiders ($5,200)

Josh Jacobs has a bum shoulder and just had surgery on his lower leg, which means we should get Washington as the Raiders lead back once again this week. The Raiders have a slim chance to sneak into the playoffs, so they will do their best to win in Denver. Washington’s efficiency numbers aren’t good but he has 20 and 25 touches in his two starts over the last three weeks and a touchdown in each. His price is still low and the Broncos are middling against the run rank 18th in run defense DVOA and have a below average offense, which should keep Washington in play all game.

Adrian Peterson, Washington ($4,900)

Peterson, like Washington, has had efficiency trouble but gets good work and now has found the end zone in each of his last four games. Dallas ranks 16th in DVOA against the run. Peterson did score a touchdown against them in Week 2 but only rushed for 25 yards. His upside isn’t huge but I’m sure Washington would enjoy beating Dallas in Dallas to eliminate them from the playoffs and running the ball on them consistently with the old man would be even more enjoyable. Getting a two touchdown game out of A.P. isn’t out of the question.

Sony Michel, Patriots ($4,900)

Michel hasn’t been getting into the end zone, which has kept his DK price down but he has been getting good usage. Over the last two games he’s seen 20 and 22 touches and topped 100 total yards in each and now he faces the Dolphins at home. The last time these teams met was back in Week 2 in Miami and Michel had 21 carries for 83 yards and a touchdown. That feels like a good over/under for Michel this week against a Miami team that’s allowed the sixth-most DK points to running backs on the season and are +16-point underdogs.
