Week 13 of the NFL is dozing in the backseat while we’re speeding ahead to find the best tight ends in all the land. The fantasy playoffs are here for the majority of leagues and you may have a tight end you like for this week, but be sure to map out these last three games so you’re prepared to win each week. Also, be sure to check your opponent’s lineup to see where their greatest needs are heading into the playoffs so you can block them.
Today, we’ll take a look at tight ends who are available in the majority of ESPN fantasy football leagues.
Jack Doyle, Colts (45.9 percent)
Doyle caught 6-of-11 targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in his first game with Eric Ebron on I.R. He led the team in targets against the Titans and even when T.Y. Hilton returns, the Colts use their tight ends way too much to worry about Doyle falling out of favor. And next week he gets the Buccaneers, who have been awful against the position all season.
Mike Gesicki, Dolphins (10.3 percent)
Gesicki caught 5-of-7 targets for 73 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles, who have been tough on tight ends this season. He now has a touchdown in his last two games on a Miami team that is playing better offensively of late. With matchups against the Jets, Giants, and Bengals next, he has fantasy appeal.
Tyler Higbee, Rams (.6 percent)
Higbee played more snaps than Gerald Everett before his injury in Week 12, so we could see Higbee taking over the tight end job, even once Everett returns. Higbee also had a great game in Arizona in Week 13, catching 7-of-8 targets for 107 yards and a touchdown. Seattle hasn’t been great against tight ends this season and they head to L.A. in Week 14.
Dallas Goedert, Eagles (37.4 percent)
Goedert continues to play a big role in the Eagles passing game, as he was second in targets last week. He also has topped 11 fantasy points in four of his last six games and has three touchdowns in that stretch. He should continue to be a strong goalline target to finish the season.
