Best, Worst value QBs in Week 14 DFS include Lamar Jackson, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers

Will Lamar Jackson ever be stopped? We break down the best and worst quarterback options in Week 14 DFS.

If you’re a DFS player, you know that a successful lineup has to have a solid combination of big-name star power players that are known commodities with a few high-upside players that provide a little more bang for your buck.

If you pay up for a big name in your daily fantasy lineup, you definitely cannot afford for that player to put up a dud of a game in your lineup.

So here are the quarterbacks that will likely provide some of the best and worst value for Week 14 (Values from DraftKings).

BEST: Lamar Jackson (BAL) - $7,400

At this point, it doesn’t really matter what defense Jackson is facing. His rushing upside combined with his arm have made him one of the most valuable players in DFS this season. Jackson faces the Bills who rank fifth in the league in pass defense DVOA and I don’t care. He’s already faced the Patriots and 49ers who rank first and second in pass defense DVOA. In those games, Jackson scored 26.3 and 28.6 DKFP. He’s scored at least 26 DKFP in seven consecutive games.

WORST: Drew Brees (NO) - $5,900

Brees has been a bit underwhelming since coming back from a thumb injury. He’s averaging 17.5 DKFP since returning and is coming off a game against the Falcons where he through for under 200 yards and only had one touchdown. This week, he faces a much more daunting opponent. The 49ers’ defense is second in the league pass defense DVOA and allows the fourth fewest DKFP to quarterbacks.

BEST: Kirk Cousins (MIN) - $6,700

It’s a short week for the Vikings, but Cousins steps into a cake matchup against the Lions. They allow the second most DKFP to quarterbacks and Cousins had his best game of the season the last time these teams met. He tossed four touchdowns, racked up 338 passing yards and scored 32.2 DKFP. There is also a chance that Cousins could get his favorite target, Adam Thielen, back from a hamstring injury this weekend. Thielen got in some practice reps in prior to MNF against the Seahawks, but was ultimately ruled out. He hasn’t been active since Week 9.

WORST: Philip Rivers (LAC) - $5,600

It is certainly starting to feel like the Rivers’ era is coming to an end. Going into Sunday, the question I always ask is “what kind of horrible way will the Chargers lose this week?” In hindsight, I really should have been live betting against the Chargers in the fourth quarter of every competitive game they have been in since Rivers took over as QB. In previous seasons, he was what kept the Chargers afloat and now he’s weighing them down. Rivers hasn’t topped 20 DKFP since Week 7.
