Tony Pollard an unexpected DNP at Tuesday practice

The Cowboys have their starter in place, but backup Tony Pollard is banged up. We break down the fantasy football implications heading into Week 14.

The Dallas Cowboys added running back Tony Pollard to their Week 14 injury report as they continue preparations for Thursday Night Football vs. the Chicago Bears. Pollard practiced on Monday, but was listed as DNP on Tuesday with an ankle injury. The team will publish one more practice participation report on Wednesday before posting their final injury report.

Fantasy football analysis: Cowboys RBs Tony Pollard, Ezekiel Elliott

Pollard has been exclusively a handcuff to Elliott this season. His one big game came in garbage time against the Miami Dolphins in Week 3 when he rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown. He’s incredibly talented, but he will not get an opportunity with Elliott in front of him.

If Pollard were sidelined, fullback Jamize Olawale could get some action on Thursday. The Cowboys would likely add a body off the practice squad as well, but this is the Elliott show. He is a must start regardless of Pollard’s health. The Bears defense is solid, but Elliott is a must start against any defense. You don’t get to your fantasy football playoff matchup and then sit Elliott.
