Zach Ertz had to go to the hospital after Week 16’s game against Washington due to a lacerated kidney, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapport. Ertz also cracked a rib but the kidney injury is what could keep him out of playoff games now that the Eagles beat the Giants on Sunday to punch their ticket into the tournament.
Ertz hasn’t been ruled out for the first-round of the playoffs but if Rapoport’s report is true, it would seem like he is a long shot to face the Seahawks when they come to town on Sunday. Dallas Goedert will likely be a major target again even if Ertz somehow gets on the field and if he doesn’t, backup Josh Perkins has shown some value. Perskins caught 4-of-6 passes for 50 yards and a touchdown in the season finale. Considering the depletion of the Eagles skill position players, if Ertz can’t go, Perkins becomes a possible DFS play this weekend.
