UPDATE: Brown has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game vs. the Hornets. He did not travel with the team down to Charlotte.

With Brown ruled out, Smart should start in his place. I don’t really like Smart as a DFS play on tomorrow’s slate. He just returned from an eye infection and was very off shooting the ball. I think Kemba Walker is a very appealing GPP play and Jayson Tatum is a decent tournament option as well.

Boston Celtics G Jaylen Brown missed practice Monday due to an illness and had to go to the hospital. His status for Tuesday’s game vs. the Charlotte Hornets is uncertain.

Usually everybody is dealing with some type of illness during the winter in Boston, but the fact that Brown had to go to the hospital isn’t good. Even if he isn’t on that plane, he could catch a later flight. Still, we’ll need to monitor this situation carefully for the Celtics. Brown has been on a tear recently and his absence would mean a lot of things.

Fantasy Basketball Analysis: Boston Celtics G Jaylen Brown

First off, if Brown is ruled out tomorrow we can expect Marcus Smart to start in his place. Smart returned from an eye infection last week and was very shaky against the Toronto Raptors. Smart isn’t really a viable DFS option tomorrow if Brown is out, I think Smart needs more time to get back into the swing of things. Brad Wanamaker may see more minutes, but really Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum benefit the most with Brown out. Walker is in a revenge game against his former team and will need to carry more of the offensive burden. Tatum and Gordon Hayward become the second and third options.
