How and what to watch in the Liberty Bowl between Navy and Kansas State

If you like running the football, get yourselves ready for the Liberty Bowl between Navy and Kansas State on New Year’s Eve. We break down what to watch, how to watch via live online stream, and a best bet.

Betting split update: The betting public backing the favored Midshipmen of Navy. 65 percent of the point spread handle is on Navy -1.5, and 55 percent of the money line handle is on Navy -130. 68 percent of the point total handle is on the over (53).

If you enjoy your football served with endless amounts of passing, the Liberty Bowl between the Navy Midshipmen and Kansas State Wildcats may not be for you.

Both teams will keep the ball on the ground plenty in this game, especially Navy, which operates the triple-option on offense. The Midshipmen put together an impressive 2019 season, getting back to a double-digit win season after going 3-10 the year before.

On the other side, Kansas State had a solid season in year one under Chris Kleiman, making the leap from FCS. The Wildcats had a much better year than expected, and it shows as they covered the spread in nine of 12 games in 2019.

Game Time/TV Channel/Streaming

The AutoZone Bowl will begin at 3:45 p.m. ET in Memphis, Tennessee on Tuesday, Dec. 31 and can be seen on ESPN and streamed on WatchESPN.

Point Spread, Totals, Odds, Trends

Spread: Navy (-2.5) vs. Kansas State
Point Total: 52.5 O/U (-110)
Money line: Midshipmen (-143), Wildcats (+118)

- Navy is 13-3 against the spread in its last 16 games.

- The total went over in seven of Navy’s last 10 games.

- Kansas State is 6-1 against the spread in its last seven games.

- The total went under in four of Kansas State’s last five games.

The Best Bet

I like Navy to cover the -2.5, but I like the under a lot more. These are two teams that do not like to pass the ball. The Midshipmen rank dead last in pass attempts per game, while Kansas State comes in at No. 116 in the same category. Betting the under is never fun for anybody, but with the amount of running we’ll be seeing in this one, the total is way too high.

Pick: Under 52.5
