NBA DFS Picks: Top fantasy basketball value plays on DraftKings for Dec. 31

There are some key names on the injury report, potentially opening up massive value on Tuesday’s four-game main slate.

There may only be four games tonight, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have star players to keep an eye on. Most notably, Luka Doncic ($11,600) and James Harden ($10,500) are both questionable to play. If either or both are, the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets are going to have a lot of playing time and usage to fill.

Ky Bowman, PG, GSW at SAS ($3,100)

This is a tricky situation. A flu bug is going through the Golden State Warriors’ locker room, leaving D’Angelo Russell as doubtful to play tonight. This would seem to be a boon for Bowman since we have seen him start at point guard for the Warriors. Bowman has made six starts and averaged 32.29 DKFP in the role. Here’s where the twist comes. He has also come down with the flu and is listed as questionable to play. We need an update on his status, but if Bowman is feeling good enough to play and start, he’s an excellent value.

Jalen Brunson, PG/SG, DAL at OKC ($3,600)

Like Bowman, we have also seen Brunson start a handful of games this season. Just recently, Brunson started a handful of games for the Dallas Mavericks when Doncic missed time due to an ankle injury. Brunson was priced down do his normal salary, and alas, Luka is hurt and on the injury report again. If he’s out, Brunson should slide back into the starting point guard job, which he’s done seven times this season and averaged 29.64 DKFP.

Marquese Chriss, PF/C, GSW at SAS ($4,100)

Earlier, I mentioned the flu hitting the Warriors. The backcourt wasn’t the only part of the team infected. Willie Cauley-Stein is unlikely to play, meaning extended minutes for Chriss. Chriss doesn’t play often, nor does he usually play well, but for our purposes, he produces fantasy points when he’s on the court. He averages well over a fantasty point per minute, so he shouldn’t have to be on the court for long to rack up stats. Chriss has scored as many as 42.75 DKFP this season and he did it in just 23 minutes.

J.J. Barea, PG/SG, DAL at OKC ($3,500)

The less notable Maverick on the injury report, Tim Hardaway Jr. is questionable to play after leaving Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers early. Without THJ, Dallas turned to Barea to start the second half. He ended up playing just 13 minutes and scoring 12 DKFP because the Mavs lost in a blowout, but he would figure to play significantly more minutes if Hardaway is out and Barea begins the game on the court.
