The Minnesota Vikings expect to have their biggest offensive weapon back on the field this Sunday when they face the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card round of the 2020 NFL Playoffs. Cook sat the team’s last two games with a shoulder injury, but he told the team’s website, “I got some rest, and I’m ready to go.”
Cook got in three limited practices in the final week of the regular season, but with nothing to play for, the Vikings rested him and several other starters. Backup Alexander Mattison also got rest in the final game for his ankle and Mike Boone got the start.
DFS analysis: Vikings RB Dalvin Cook ($7,800)
Cook is the second highest priced running back and third highest priced player in the Wild Card round. He’s facing a Saints defense that ranks seventh in DKFP allowed to running backs, fifth in traditional fantasy points to the position, fifth in run defense efficiency. The Vikings will likely need to lean on Cook to some degree, but this is not a great matchup for the value.
Alvin Kamara ($7,400) is a better option than Cook in this matchup, and for the price, Latavius Murray ($5,000) offers intriguing upside as a better value.
