How to handle betting on Lakers vs. Jazz

Los Angeles looks to pad its Western Conference lead on the second of a road back-to-back in Utah. We break down the odds and lines on DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Los Angeles Lakers (18-3) shook off a bit of the flu on Tuesday night to get past the Denver Nuggets. Now, LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be back in action tonight against the Utah Jazz (12-9). Davis is a candidate to rest after needing an IV last night. The Lakers enter this game having won 11 of their past 12 games. The Jazz are struggling, having lost four of five games. They also will be without guard Mike Conley. Let’s break down the lines.

Lakers vs. Jazz spread, over/under, money line

Spread: Jazz (-3)
Over/Under: 211.5
Money line: Jazz (-148), Lakers (+125)

Rule No. 23: When the Lakers are getting points, you take them. I’ve pretty much established this rule for most of 2019-20, ever since L.A. showed us its defensive prowess. LeBron is healthy and he’ll play and even if AD sits, I think the Lakers have enough to win this game. At worst it’s close and they can pull out the cover. L.A. at +125 is also favorable and I don’t mind using them as leverage in a parlay with a heavy favorite. The under seems like a lock given the nature of the game. The Lakers could be tired from last night, they’re dealing with illnesses, so I can’t imagine one team blowing the other out or both teams going over 100 points.

Prediction: Lakers 95, Jazz 89
