The Dallas Mavericks (14-6) have been the surprise team of the 2019-20 season and have won three straight games, highlighted by a win over the Los Angeles Lakers a few nights ago. Luka Doncic continues his quest for NBA MVP, coming off 33 points, 18 rebounds and five assists Tuesday vs. the New Orleans Pelicans. The Minnesota Timberwolves (10-9) remain in the playoff picture, but are looking for consistency. Andrew Wiggins has been a bright spot, though, averaging 24.8 points per game this season. Let’s take a look at the lines.
Timberwolves vs. Mavericks spread, over/under, money line
Spread: Mavericks (-4.5)
Money line: Mavericks (-195), Timberwolves (+160)
At this point, Doncic is the closest thing to LeBron James. I mean, he’s probably better than LeBron at this point. And for that reason, I tend to lean Doncic over most teams. The T-Wolves are too enigmatic and I don’t know if they’ll be able to contain Doncic. With that said, it’s the second night of a B2B for Dallas and the T-Wolves are somehow 7-2 on the road. This is a tough call, but I’m still going to ride the hot hand and say the Mavs cover at home. The over would also be the way I lean.
Prediction: Mavericks 124, Timberwolves 118
Luka Doncic prop bets
I went over some of these from last game and Doncic hit the over 50.5 on his points, assists and rebounds total. He also drained five 3-pointers, so the O/U of 3.5 looks appealing again. If Kristaps Porzingis is sidelined, then I’d also lean Doncic’s OVER of 31.5 points.
