Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are coming off of a tough home loss to the Buffalo Bills. That game saw Prescott throw a whopping 49 passes, connecting on 32 of them for 355 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Unfortunately, this high pass-volume game plan did not pan out. Prescott looks to get back on the winning track with a match-up against the Bears on Thursday night.
Fantasy Football Analysis: Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott
Prescott enters this game as the fourth ranked fantasy football quarterback in standard ESPN leagues, averaging 21.8 points per game. He has failed to reach at least 20 points only three times this season.
Thursday, he faces a defense that just last week allowed the Detroit Lions’ undrafted rookie QB David Blough to throw a 75-yard TD in his first quarter of NFL play. Clearly this defense has holes, and those holes are likely to be even larger this week with starting cornerback Prince Amukamara hobbled by a hamstring injury. Amukamara did not practice this week and is listed as doubtful for the game.
An injury to a starting CB is not good news for the Bears, as Dak has three solid wide receivers to look for on every play in Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and Randall Cobb. The Cowboys are unlikely to throw as much as they did in last week’s game against the Bills, and will probably balance the attack with more work for Ezekiel Elliot.
This, of course, does mean the passing attack will be forgotten and there is plenty of reason to believe Prescott can have a solid outing against the Bears.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Prescott as a QB1.
