NBA DFS Picks: Top value options on DraftKings for Dec. 5

We go over the top bargain plays to target for Thursday night’s four-game slate.

With only four games on Thursday’s slate, value is going to be tough to come by. The good news (for us) is that there are some players on the injury reports for the Pelicans and Wizards. Here are some of the value plays to consider:

Moritz Wagner, WAS vs. PHI, $5,500 — Dealing with a stress fracture, Thomas Bryant is going to be out for an extended period of time. In his place, Wagner seems like the most likely candidate to step into the starting lineup. Even in limited minutes, he’s shown to be a fantasy asset. Wagner is averaging 23.4 DKFP in just 19 minutes per game. Now here’s the rub, Wagner has missed the last two games with an ankle injury and is questionable to play. We are going to need an update on his status before lock.

Rui Hachimura, WAS vs. PHI, $5,700 — If Wagner is unable to play, look for Hachimura to start at center and eat up a ton of minutes. He would likely start in the front court alongside Davis Bertans ($5,800), and both would have value to their price tags if Wagner is out. Playing against the Magic without Wagner, Hachimura scored 28 DKFP in 39 minutes, while Bertans scored 35.25 DKFP in 40 minutes. The Wizards are very thin on depth unless they add another player or two to their roster.

Lonzo Ball, NOP vs. PHX, $5,300 — Making his way back from an illness and a knee injury, Ball’s production is down in recent games. This has led to a drop in a salary of nearly $2,000. Prior to getting injured, Ball was priced as high as $7,100. He’s back in the starting lineup and played over 30 minutes in back-to-back games, so his production should come up as well. In 10 starts, Ball is averaging 28.95 DKFP.

Jaxson Hayes, NOP vs. PHX, $3,800 — Like the Wizards, the Pelicans are dealing with front court injuries of their own. Both Derrick Favors ($5,200) and Kenrich Williams ($3,600) are listed as questionable on the injury report. If both are out, Hayes should play a healthy amount of minutes against the Suns, who allow the fourth most DKFP to centers.
