The NFL announced their monthly awards for November on Thursday, and Oakland Raiders running back Josh Jacobs was named offensive rookie of the month. He rushed for 441 yards and three touchdowns and added 44 receiving yards. The Raiders were 3-1 in the month of November.
Jacobs is a sizable favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. At DraftKings Sportsbook, his odds are -305. The next closest player is Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray at +300. Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew had sunk like a rock, but his return to the starting lineup has him third at +1400.
If Jacobs wins the award, he would be the third straight running back and fourth in five years to take home the award. The past four winners include New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, and then St. Louis Rams running back Todd Gurley.
The Raiders used the 24th pick of the first round this past April to select Jacobs. The pick was acquired from the Chicago Bears in the Khalil Mack trade.
