We are one day closer to the return of New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning in primetime. The Giants had their first formal day of practice for Week 14 Monday Night Football, and rookie QB Daniel Jones was a DNP due to his high ankle sprain.
Head coach Pat Shurmur said on Wednesday that Manning was very likely to start, according to beat writer Tom Rock. Shurmur said Jones is wearing a walking boot while dealing with a moderate high ankle sprain. It’s possible he gets back in short order, but it seems almost certain not to happen in Week 14.
Fantasy football analysis: Giants QB Eli Manning
Manning is only owned in 0.7 percent of leagues. He’s likely to have a bigger impact on the Eagles playoff hopes than those of fantasy football players. He faces a shaky Eagles pass defense, but at this point his value is in two-QB leagues or 16+ team leagues. He’s an intriguing option, but it’s hard to justify a start given how rusty he likely will be.
