How to watch and what to watch in the Pac-12 Championship, Oregon vs. Utah

For the first time in years, the Pac-12 Championship may have an impact on the College Football Playoff. While the Utes have their eyes on a championship, Oregon is looking to play spoiler.

For the first time since 2016, the Pac-12 Championship just might have College Football Playoff team involved. If the Utah Utes wins, assuming LSU takes care of Georgia, the big debate will likely be whether the Utes deserve a spot in the Playoff over the Big 12 champ.

The Oregon Ducks’ Playoff hopes ended in a stunning loss to Arizona State two weeks ago, while Utah remains very much in the discussion at 11-1.

Before the Playoff chatter begins, let’s check out some of the news and notes surrounding the Pac-12 Championship to give you an edge over your gambling competition.

Game Time/TV Channel/Streaming

The Pac-12 Championship will begin at 8:00 p.m. ET in Santa Clara on Friday night and can be seen on ABC. A live stream will be available on WatchESPN.

Point Spread, Totals, Odds, Trends

Spread: Utah (-6.5) vs. Oregon

Point Total: 48.5 O/U (-110)

Money line: Utes (-245), Ducks (+195)

  • Utah is 8-0 in its last eight games against the spread.
  • The total has gone under in 10 of Oregon’s last 15 games.
  • Utah lost its only Pac-12 title appearance in 2018, while Oregon won it in 2011 and 2014.

Pick against the spread

This one opened at Utah -2.5, but we saw a four-point line move almost immediately as the money came in on the Utes. People are forgetting just how close Oregon is to being undefeated. If Arizona State doesn’t connect on an 81-yard score on a 3rd & 16, I think the Ducks win that game. If you remember way back to opening weekend, Oregon had it won against Auburn before a complete fourth quarter collapse and last-second touchdown. Meanwhile, Utah has played one team ranked in the top 25 (USC) and lost.

This seems like a field goal game either way, and it would not be a surprise if Oregon ruins the party for Utah with an outright win.

Pick: Oregon +6.5
