Best fantasy football quarterback plays under $6,000

We go through our favorite DFS value quarterback plays for Week 14

I always rather pay up for running backs more than quarterbacks in daily fantasy. It’s usually safer to find a value quarterback against a lousy defense than a value running back against a bad defense. We know the quarterback is going to touch the ball on every play, and sometimes he’ll score fantasy points whereas, a running back or wide receiver, you can’t be sure they will get the work you want. So when you pay up for them, you’re paying for consistent touches, which quarterbacks already get!

Let’s take a look at some of the value plays at quarterback for this week on DraftKings.

Ryan Tannehill, Titans ($5,800)

Tannehill has been remarkably consistent since getting the starting nod and gets a good matchup in sunny California. The Raiders give up the third-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks while Tannehill has Top-12 fantasy starts in five of his six games and has scored multiple touchdowns in every start. He isn’t asked to do a lot, but he’s been efficient enough to rank fifth in fantasy points per game since he was named the starter.

Kyler Murray, Cardinals ($5,800)

Murray ranks sixth in quarterback fantasy points on the season and is cheap at home this week. Coming off a bad game against a tough defense does that, but we know his upside remains high, and even last week, when he threw for 163 yards and an interception, he still put up 67 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The Steelers allow the eighth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks and can get to the quarterback, which has been a problem for Murray. Murray isn’t a smash play for cash games, but he makes for a good GPP play due to his rushing ability.

Kyle Allen, Panthers ($5,700)

Allen has been awful of late, and even last week, when he threw for 278 yards, two touchdowns, and ran for another, he was terrible. But the good news is that he has back-to-back good fantasy games due to the offensive pieces around him. Those pieces are still there, and the Falcons, despite playing better defense of late, still can be beaten through the air. The last time they played, Allen threw four interceptions to zero touchdowns, so the floor is set pretty low, but it’s a new day, and the Panthers have the personnel to put up points.
