I always side toward cheaper defenses in daily fantasy, as “top defenses” don’t give you consistent points unless they consistently play awful opponents. We have three here that I would have no qualms inserting into my lineups this week at DraftKings.
Ravens ($2,900) at Bills
The Bills aren’t a team defenses put big numbers on this season but the Ravens defense coupled with their high-scoring offense, has been on fire of late, hitting 13 or more DK points in five of their last six games. Last week they took on a 49ers team that doesn’t give up many points to defenses and put up a decent seven points.
Panthers ($2,800) at Falcons
The Falcons have fallen down a deep well this season with little hope of crawling out. Matt Ryan has turned the ball over eight times to five touchdowns over the last five games while the Panthers lead the league in sacks.
Buccaneers ($2,300) vs. Colts
Tampa Bay’s defense has been on a roll lately with 23 and 16 DK points against the Falcons and Jaguars on the road over their last two games. Two defensive touchdowns helped boost those numbers, but they also had 11 sacks and three interceptions. The Colts haven’t been as good offensively since T.Y. Hilton’s injury and the absence of Eric Ebron doesn’t help either. The Bucs likely aren’t going to give you the same numbers they’ve had the last two weeks, but they’re rolling and I don’t like the Colts chances to put up many points.
