UPDATE: Orrin Schwarz of the St. Cloud Times was on hand and has some great quotations from players and coaches following the insanity.
We have another front-runner for craziest ending to a college football game. A week after Ole Miss lost thanks to a missed extra point after a penalty for pretending to be a dog peeing, a Division III playoff game brought its own insanity.
The St. John’s Johnnies edged out the Wheaton Thunder after a crazy series to close out the game resulted in a missed extra point. It started with offensive lineman Jake Hibben getting four straight rushing attempts inside the St. John’s five-yard line. Hibben punched in a one-yard touchdown and that was followed by an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. A long extra point was missed, but offsetting penalties resulted in a re-kick. The long PAT was missed again, and St. John’s won 34-33.
The Johnnie’s advance to face the winner of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Mary Hardin-Baylor. In the meantime, this tweet sums up the insanity of the finish simply enough.
If I'm reading this correctly, the St. John's game just ended with:

*Offensive Lineman personal foul on TD celebration
*Missed long PAT
*Offsetting penalties on the PAT
