The Chiefs come into this game having won two in a row while the Patriots lost their last game in Houston. Both teams lead their division, but the Chiefs are two games up on the Raiders and beat them in their two matchups. The Patriots are only one game up on the Bills and beat them once but have another matchup with them on the schedule.
Both teams have had some trouble on offense of late, but the Patriots are scuffling more than the Chiefs. This game still has the highest over/under of the week at 49 total points, but we haven’t seen either offense play to their standard of late.
The Patriots need to hold off the Bills to win their division, which isn’t something you have heard in the past. They’ve beaten them once, handily, but Buffalo has shown improvement and should be able to give them a better game the next time around. The Patriots two toughest games remaining are this one against the Chiefs and then against the Bills. Both are at home, which is a great advantage. They currently hold the No. 2 seed, as they are tied for the best record in the AFC with the Ravens but lost in their head-to-head matchup. They’ll need to get a game on them, which likely means winning out with the Ravens losing one of their last four.
After this game, Kansas City faces the Broncos, Bears, and Chargers, which are all entirely winnable. So, if they can take one from the patriots, they have a good chance of winning out, and they beat the Ravens already, giving them the tiebreaker if the Ravens somehow lose two of their last four.
