The Seahawks had a good Week 13, as they beat the Vikings on Monday night after the 49ers fell to the Ravens in Baltimore. That tied their records at 10-2 but Seattle beat the 49ers in San Francisco earlier in the year to hold the tiebreaker.
The Rams are coming off their best offensive game in the last month with a 34-7 win over the Cardinals which pushed them to 7-5 but still three games behind the Seahawks and 49ers. Their only chance to make the playoffs is as a wild card, which would give the NFC West three teams in the playoffs.
To sneak into the wild card spot, the Rams need to win some tough matchups. First is of course this game against the Seahawks and then at Dallas, at San Francisco and then back home against the Cardinals. Their main competition for the wild card spot is the Vikings, who are 8-4, one game ahead of the Rams. The Vikings schedule looks like this: Lions, @Chargers, Packers, Chicago. They have an easier schedule and a game on the Rams, so it won’t be easy.
Seattle has another game against the 49ers in Week 17, which could end up being for the NFC West title, but the 49ers do play in New Orleans this week. A loss could put them behind the curve for the division if Seattle, who are +1 point underdogs in L.A., can win tonight.
