After an abysmal start to the season due to a new coaching staff going all in on the run game, Cousins bounced back and has played well, both in real and fake football. Since Week 5, Cousins ranks fourth in quarterback fantasy points. He’s had seven multi-TD games in that eight-game stretch. In his one game where he threw no touchdowns, he completed 23-of-26 passes for 285 yards. He’s getting the job done.
Fantasy football analysis: Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins
This week Cousins takes on a Lions defense that he had his best game against already, throwing for 338 yards and four touchdowns in Week 7 in Detroit. The Lions have given up the eighth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks and three or more touchdowns to Mitch Trubisky, Dak Prescott, Trubisky again, Daniel Jones, and Cousins. They’ve also only held two quarterbacks under two touchdowns all season.
The main concern this week is that the Vikings enter the end zone on the ground instead of through the air and slow the game down with a big lead against rookie third-stringer David Blough. That isn’t a big concern though, as the Vikings should be able to move the ball easily and that means plenty fantasy points for Cousins.
