UPDATE: Ryan Griffin is ACTIVE for Week 14

The New York Jets and Miami Dolphins square off in Week 14 matchup of two teams playing out the string competing for draft positioning. We get two bad pass defenses, which could open the door for some fun matchups for fantasy football players. Neither team is overly talented at the skill positions, but there is enough talent to make this an interesting matchup.

The tight end position in particular could be a fun one to watch. The Dolphins send out Mike Gesicki, who is in his second year after Miami selected him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He caught 22 passes for 202 yards as a rookie, and has taken a step forward in 2019 with 36 receptions for 401 yards and two touchdowns.

The Jets send out Ryan Griffin, who in his seventh year is getting a decent opportunity with Chris Herndon sidelined. Griffin has caught 33 passes for 312 yards and a career-high five touchdowns.

Fantasy football matchup

The Dolphins defense has given up the 12th most fantasy points to tight ends. They are coming off a couple solid performances, giving up a combined nine receptions for 90 yards to the Eagles dynamic tight ends, and two receptions for 20 yards to Demetrius Harris

The Jets defense has given up the fifth fewest points to tight ends. Last week, they gave up five receptions for 51 yards to C.J. Uzomah. They haven’t given up double digit fantasy points to a tight end in PPR leagues since Gesicki had six receptions for 95 yards against them in Week 9.
