What to do with James White, Sony Michel, Rex Burkhead in Week 14 fantasy football

The Patriots backfield has a great matchup in Week 14, facing a Chiefs defense that is bad against the run. We break down the fantasy football start/sit considerations.

The New England Patriots offense is in a spot of trouble coming down the home stretch of the 2019 regular season. They looked great in the final part of the fourth quarter vs. the Houston Texans this past weekend, but the offense struggled in a big way for most of the game.

This week, they host a Kansas City Chiefs defense that has struggled to get on track. Most notably, they have struggled big time against the run, giving up six 100-yard rushing games and eight rushing touchdowns.

Fantasy Football Analysis: New England Patriots running backs

The backfield of Sony Michel, James White, and Rex Burkhead have settled into specific roles. Michel is the workhorse rushing down option, White is the passing down option, and Burkhead is the jack-of-all-trades option.

The Chiefs have given up the second most fantasy points to running backs. Given the inconsistency in the Patriots ground game, this is a matchup with a ton of possibilities — particularly for Michel. He and White are both solid starting options given the regular work they get in their respective parts of the offense. Burkhead is a guy that will occasionally impress, but ends up working primarily in areas that don’t quite shine in fantasy.
